Itinerary

DAY 1

Bucharest – Canakkale (650 km) Meeting with the tour guide in Piața Victoriei in the car park in front of the Government building at 06:00. Accommodation at Hotel Zileli 3* or similar in Canakkale.

DAY 2

CANAKKALE – TROY – PERGAMON – KUSADASI (400 km) After breakfast we visit Troy, the famous citadel mentioned by Homer in his works. We continue to Pergamon (Bergama) - an important cultural centre in Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire and the place where parchment was invented. Going up by cable car to the archaeological site we can admire the Acropolis, the Temple of Trajan majestically situated on a hill with a panorama over the city, the Altar of Zeus, the Theatre and the Temple of Dionysus. Passing by Izmir, the third largest city in Turkey, the birthplace of Homer and Aristotle Onassis, we arrive in the Kusadasi area. Evening accommodation and dinner in Kusadasi at a 5* or 4* hotel.

DAY 3

KUSADASI – EPHESUS – HOUSE OF THE VIRGIN MARY – PAMUKKALE (210 km) After breakfast we visit Ephesus, one of the most famous and wealthy cities of antiquity, where we admire the ruins of the ancient Temple of the goddess Artemis (one of the 7 wonders of the world), the first of the 7 churches of the Apocalypse, the famous Library of Celsus and the great Amphitheatre. We continue to the House of the Virgin Mary - the place where the Virgin Mary spent the last years of her earthly life. Next, we arrive at Pamukkale, a wonder of nature, a place unique in the world, included in UNESCO heritage. Hot spring water flows over natural stone terraces. These have created limestone pools here, with stalactite edges. Adjacent to the limestone terraces is the ancient city of Hierapolis, whose ruins date from the time of King Eumenes II of Pergamon. The citadel was rebuilt by the Romans during the reign of Emperor Tiberius and was abandoned in 1219, after the earthquake that destroyed it. Evening accommodation and dinner in Pamukkale at a 5* or 4* hotel.

DAY 4

PAMUKKALE – KONYA – CAPPADOCIA (580 km) After breakfast we head towards Konya, the city of dervishes – Muslim monks, with roots in Hittite times; throughout the 12th and 13th centuries Konya was the capital of the Seljuk Turks and rapidly advanced to the rank of cultural centre. We visit in Konya the dervish monastery and the tomb of Mevlana Gelaledin-Al-Rumi, founder of the order of Muslim monks. We continue with a short stop at Sultanhan, a caravanserai (traditional inn) in Aksaray province. Evening accommodation and dinner at a 5* or 4* hotel in Cappadocia.

DAY 5

CAPPADOCIA After breakfast we visit Cappadocia, known throughout the world for its special relief in the form of chimneys, as well as for its underground cities, thousands of years old. Optionally, you can fly in a hot air balloon over the valleys of Cappadocia at sunrise (this activity depends exclusively on weather conditions and availability on site). Due to its isolated location, Cappadocia was for a long time a place of refuge for Christians persecuted by Roman legions and became a place of hermitage for many monks. We make a stop to photograph from above Pigeon Valley, which houses the largest collection of pigeon nests in the world. We also admire the Uchisar "castle", from where a superb panorama over the Cappadocia valley is revealed. We continue our visit to Devrent Valley, also called the Valley of Imagination, to admire the "Fairy Chimneys" (rock formations with bizarre appearances). Next is a stop at the Goreme open-air museum - a monastic complex composed of several churches and chapels carved in stone, once an important religious centre (optional entrance). Evening accommodation at a 5* or 4* hotel in Cappadocia. Optional Anatolian Evening with traditional dances. The programme includes coach transport, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks package. DAY 6

CAPPADOCIA – ANKARA (280 km) After breakfast we go to the underground city of Kaymakli, built in stone, 8-9 storeys underground, where the first Christians hid from Roman and Byzantine persecution (optional entrance, the visit is not recommended for people suffering from claustrophobia). We continue with Pasabag, an ensemble of rocks famous for their appearance of monks - which is why the area is also known as Monks Valley. We stop at Urgup to admire the "three beauties" (3 famous rocks in the area). We then make a stop in the village of Cavusin where the houses are built in stone; we can climb to several rock monasteries from where we can admire a beautiful view over the area (Red Valley). We continue our journey to Avanos, famous for the art of pottery. This small town is crossed by the Kizilirmak river, the longest in Turkey (1,350 km). We make a final stop to admire the panorama of Cappadocia from the Ortahisar "castle". After the tour, departure to Ankara, where we admire the Ataturk Mausoleum (Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was the founder and first president of Turkey, being the country's most important personality). Evening accommodation at a 4* or 3* hotel in Ankara.

DAY 7

ANKARA – ISTANBUL (430 km) After breakfast we depart for Istanbul. Arrival on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus in the afternoon. The first stop will be at Dolmabahce, the last residence of the sultans and of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The palace is located on the shore of the Bosphorus, with a spectacular view over the Asian part of Istanbul. We continue to Taksim Square, in the city centre, where the Independence Monument stands, erected in memory of Ataturk, founder of the Republic of Turkey. DAY 8

ISTANBUL After breakfast we take part in a walking city tour with the tour guide in the old quarter: Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the ancient Hippodrome. The tour ends on the shore of the Bosphorus and near the Galata Bridge and we continue to recommend a visit to the Grand Bazaar – one of the largest covered markets in the world, with over 4,000 shops, being a true paradise for shopping lovers. Here everything is negotiable, from traditional Turkish delicacies to carpets, footwear, leather goods or jewellery (closed Sunday). + Bosphorus Cruise Indicative price: 35 EURO/person for a minimum group of 20 people. DAY 9

ISTANBUL – EDIRNE – BUCHAREST (700 km) After breakfast, we depart for Bucharest. After a short stop in Edirne (visit to Selimiye Mosque) we cross Bulgaria and arrive in Bucharest during the evening, depending on customs formalities. !! The prices of optional excursions are set at the time of the offer launch, but may be subject to subsequent changes, depending on local partners.

🚌 Boarding

1.Coach seats are allocated starting from the 4th row, in the order the deposit is paid. For rows 1-3 an extra fee may be paid (specific to each trip).

📍 During the trip

2.The order of the visits may be changed by the guide without affecting the structure of the programme. Sights may be replaced with similar ones for objective reasons (roads, weather, etc).
3.Entrance fees for tourist sights and optional excursions are paid in local currency to the guide and may vary by season.
4.Guiding services in museums or cities may only be provided by local guides, paid on the spot.
5.For lost/stolen luggage, documents or personal belongings, the agency is not liable. Complaints are filed personally with the competent authorities.

6.The single supplement is paid at least 7 days before departure if the agency cannot find a room partner.
7.Children get a discount only when sharing a room with 2 adults.
8.For tourist packages and holidays in Romania we accept payment with Romanian holiday vouchers: Pluxee, Edenred and Up Romania.
