DAY 2

Valletta, the capital After breakfast, optional excursion to Valletta. We will discover St. John's Co-Cathedral, one of the most impressive religious buildings in the world, being a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. It was built by the Order of the Knights of St. John during their rule of Malta, and nearly 400 Maltese Knights of St. John rest there, with the Grand Masters of the Order occupying places of honour. We continue our walking tour with the Grandmaster's Palace, one of the first buildings constructed in Valletta, in 1571. The original palace was designed by Gelormu Cassar, but successive Grand Masters enlarged and developed the building as their official residence. The Grandmaster's Palace has always housed the government of Malta: first the Knights, then under the British as the Governor's Palace, and now it houses the office of the President as well as the House of Representatives. Fee: 65 Eur/Person/Approximate (Includes private transport by coach/minibus, local guide, entrance fees) 🛏️ Accommodation at Hotel IKYK 3* /similar in St. Julian's Bay, Malta.

DAY 3

Gozo Island After breakfast we have organised an optional excursion to Gozo Island. We begin our tour with a visit to Ġgantija, a megalithic temple complex from the Neolithic period (c. 3600–2500 BC) located on the Mediterranean island of Gozo in Malta. The Ġgantija temples are the oldest of the megalithic temples in Malta and are older than the Egyptian pyramids. We continue our tour to Dwejra Inland Sea, sometimes called Qawra in Maltese, which is a seawater lagoon on Gozo island, connected to the Mediterranean Sea through a narrow natural arch. We head towards Ta' Pinu. The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu is a small Roman Catholic basilica and national shrine located approximately 700 metres from the village of Gharb. On 24 May 1935, Pope Pius XI issued the papal decree of coronation, Marianum exstat Sanctuarium, for its venerated Marian statue, the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu. The coronation of the image took place on 20 June 1935. Our excursion continues with a visit to Xlendi, a popular tourist destination in Gozo, thanks to its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear water and spectacular scenery. Xlendi is considered the most picturesque village in Gozo. We end our visit in Victoria, the capital of Gozo island, where we will visit the Citadel and have lunch. Fee: 90 Eur/Person/Approximate (Includes private transport by coach/minibus, local guide, entrance fees, ferry ride, lunch) 🛏️ Accommodation at Hotel IKYK 3* /similar in St. Julian's Bay, Malta.

DAY 4

Dingli Cliffs, Ħaġar Qim Temple, Blue Grotto After breakfast, we go to visit the Dingli Cliffs, near the village of the same name on the west coast of Malta, one of the most visited natural attractions. The majestic wall of white cliffs rises perpendicularly from the sea to a height of 253 metres, which also makes it the highest point in the entire country, at a place called Ta'Dmejrek. We continue our excursion to Ħaġar Qim Temple. Hidden somewhere in the Maltese paradise, the megalithic temple complex of Ħaġar Qim has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 2002. The six remaining temples were built in the Neolithic period, around 3600-3200 BC. The Ħaġar Qim temple complex is one of the most important in Malta, with several such Neolithic edifices found on the Mediterranean coast. We end our tour with a spectacular cruise to the Blue Grotto or, in other words, the Blue Cave. The Blue Grotto is one of the most visited natural attractions in Malta. These are seaside cliffs that form a complex of seven caves, dominated by a large rock arch that falls into the sea. Sometimes travellers confuse the Blue Grotto with the famous Azure Window rock formation in Gozo, which collapsed into the sea.
