Travellers between the columns of an Egyptian temple, watching the total solar eclipse

The 2027 eclipse

The total eclipse of 2 August 2027, seen from Luxor

On 2 August 2027, the Moon completely covers the Sun along a strip that crosses southern Spain, North Africa and Egypt. The longest totality is in Egypt, a few tens of kilometres from Luxor: 6 minutes and 22 seconds, according to NASA’s calculations. For a total eclipse, that is a very long time.

We build the trip around those minutes: a hotel in Luxor or a cabin on a Nile cruise ship, a viewing spot chosen in advance and certified eclipse glasses. We fill the rest of the days with the temples along the Nile, at your pace.

Who it is for

  • astronomy and photography enthusiasts
  • families who want to show their children something they will never forget
  • those who want a “once in a lifetime” journey
  • groups of friends or colleagues who want to see the eclipse together

Where you can see the eclipse from

Luxor, Egypt

Around Luxor, totality lasts more than 6 minutes, and the maximum, 6 minutes and 22 seconds, is a few tens of kilometres from the city (NASA). In August, the sky over southern Egypt is usually clear.

Nile cruise

Between Luxor and Aswan, with the temples on the banks a few steps from the ship. We match the ship’s itinerary to the day of the eclipse.

Southern Spain

The path of totality also crosses the Cádiz–Tarifa area. Totality is shorter than in Egypt, but the journey is shorter too, and it combines well with Andalusia.
