Itinerary

DAY 1

⛪ Cămârzani Monastery This is a nuns' monastery located in the village of Cămârzani, in the commune of Vadu Moldovei. A church was built here in the second half of the 19th century by the boyar Mortun, on his estate. In 1863, the boyar Emanoil Mortun built a parish church on his estate in the village of Cămârzani, within the manor grounds. The church that was built had the dedication of Saint George and was a place of worship only for the boyar family. 🛖 Museum of Folk Customs of Bucovina The Museum of Folk Customs of Bucovina is the only museum that reveals unsuspected secrets of the Bucovinian folk calendar, from Saint Andrew, continuing with those specific to Christmas, New Year, Epiphany, the beginnings of the agricultural, pastoral, beekeeping and fruit-growing year, the Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord and Saint Dumitru, transposing that segment of spirituality defining folk tradition. ⛪ Voroneț Monastery With the will of God, with the prayers of Saint Venerable Daniel the Hermit and through the zeal of the Pious Voivode Stephen the Great and Holy, Voroneț Monastery was raised, from 26 May to 14 September 1488, with the dedication of Saint Great Martyr George. 🍽️ Dinner 🛏️ Accommodation at guesthouse/hotel in Bucovina

DAY 2

🍽️ Breakfast 🚂 Mocănița Huțulca The narrow-gauge railway at Moldovița was built by a sawmill owner from Munich, Louis Ortieb, and put into service in 1888 for transporting timber from the forest to the sawmill. In 1909 the line was taken over from the church fund, which changed the gauge of the line from 800mm to standardised gauge 760mm. Initially, the route of the mocănița was 23.9 kilometres, from Moldovița to Roșoșa, but over the years many variants were built and the entire system reached a length of 73km in 1987. The line from Moldovița was used until 2001 for transporting timber. Since July 2005 we have been managing this line. Currently the line is 12km. 🥚 Museum of Painted Eggs This museum houses an impressive collection of painted eggs, each specimen being a small work of art, created with skill and dedication. Visitors can admire the variety of patterns and colours, which reflect the different techniques and symbols specific to Romanian ethnographic regions. ⛪ Moldovița Monastery Raised by Petru Rareș in 1532 and painted in 1537, it is a new foundation on the site - or, more precisely, near - another older, ruined one. We know nothing precise about the date when the first building was erected. On the other hand, there is more certain news related to the construction of the stone monument at the beginning of the reign of Alexandru cel Bun, whose ruins can still be seen today. 🍽️ Dinner 🛏️ Accommodation at guesthouse/hotel in Bucovina

DAY 3

🍽️ Breakfast ⛪ Sucevița Monastery Located in the commune of the same name, on the bank of the Sucevița stream, it was built in the last decades of the 16th century, through the financial contribution of the entire Movilă boyar family, of whom Ieremia was ruler of Moldavia between 1595-1606. This monastery has an impressive history and many legends float around it, each more interesting than the last. 🏺 Black Pottery Marginea Pottery has endured in our lands since the time of the Dacians. It came to be practised intensively in the northern area of Moldavia around the 15th century, from the need to store food. The locality of Marginea has inherited it for some 300 years. We will visit a workshop and will be able to buy souvenirs. 🍲 Traditional Rădăuți experience at Casa Ciorbei Rădăuțene We will make a stop to discover the authentic tastes of Bucovina. Here we will have the opportunity to taste the renowned ciorbă rădăuțeană, as well as other dishes specific to the area. https://restaurantnational.ro/ 🏛️ Samuil and Eugenia Ioneț Ethnographic Museum The museum preserves the charm of old Bucovina through authentic collections of folk costume, traditional objects and pieces that illustrate local life and culture. 🍽️ Dinner 🛏️ Accommodation at guesthouse/hotel in Bucovina

DAY 4

🍽️ Breakfast ⚔️ Suceava Fortress Built at the end of the 14th century near the medieval town of Suceava, it was the main residence of the rulers of Moldavia for nearly 200 years, today a national-level historical monument. 🛖 Bucovinian Village Museum Organised near the Princely Fortress of Suceava, it highlights the folk cultural-architectural heritage of Țara de Sus. The youngest of Romania's open-air museums was established in the 8th decade of the last century, when the Bucovinian village had countless folk architecture monuments. 🚌 Arrival in Bucharest in the evening, depending on traffic conditions.

🚌 Boarding

  1. 1.Coach seats are allocated starting from the 4th row, in the order the deposit is paid. For rows 1-3 an extra fee may be paid (specific to each trip).

📍 During the trip

  1. 2.The order of the visits may be changed by the guide without affecting the structure of the programme. Sights may be replaced with similar ones for objective reasons (roads, weather, etc).
  2. 3.Entrance fees for tourist sights and optional excursions are paid in local currency to the guide and may vary by season.
  3. 4.Guiding services in museums or cities may only be provided by local guides, paid on the spot.
  4. 5.For lost/stolen luggage, documents or personal belongings, the agency is not liable. Complaints are filed personally with the competent authorities.

  1. 6.The single supplement is paid at least 7 days before departure if the agency cannot find a room partner.
  2. 7.Children get a discount only when sharing a room with 2 adults.
