It was built by the Order of the Knights of St. John, during the period they ruled Malta and in it nearly 400 Maltese Knights of St. John rest in eternal sleep, with the Grand Masters of the Order in the place of honour. We continue our walking tour with the Grandmaster's Palace, one of the first buildings constructed in Valletta, in 1571. The original palace was designed by Gelormu Cassar, but successive Grand Masters enlarged and developed the building as the official residence. The Grandmaster's Palace has always housed the government of Malta, first the Knights, then under the British as the Governor's Palace and now it houses the office of the President, as well as the House of Representatives. Gozo Island After breakfast we have organised an optional excursion to Gozo Island. We begin our tour with a visit to Ggantija, a megalithic temple complex from the Neolithic era (c. 3600โ€“2500 BC) situated on the Mediterranean island of Gozo in Malta. The Ggantija temples are the oldest among the megalithic temples of Malta and are older than the Egyptian pyramids. We continue our tour at Dwejra Inland Sea, sometimes called Qawra in Maltese, is a lagoon of seawater on the island of Gozo, linked to the Mediterranean Sea through a narrow natural arch. We head towards Ta' Pinu. The Basilica National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu is a small Roman Catholic basilica and national shrine located approximately 700 metres from the village of Gharb. On 24 May 1935, Pope Pius XI issued the papal coronation decree, Marianum exstat Sanctuarium, for its venerated Marian statue, the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu. The coronation of the image took place on 20 June 1935. Our excursion continues with a visit to Xlendi, a popular tourist destination in Gozo, due to its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear water and spectacular scenery. Xlendi is considered the most picturesque village in Gozo. We conclude our visit in Victoria, the capital of Gozo island where we will visit the Citadel and have lunch. Day 4

Dingli Cliffs, Hagar Qim Temple, Blue Grotto After breakfast, we go to visit the Dingli Cliffs, near the village of the same name on the west coast of Malta, are one of the most visited natural attractions. The majestic wall of white cliffs rises perpendicularly from the sea to a height of 253 metres, which also makes it the highest point in the entire country, in a place called Ta'Dmejrek. We continue our excursion to Hagar Qim Temple. Hidden somewhere in the Maltese paradise, the megalithic temple complex of Hagar Qim has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 2002. The six remaining temples were built during the Neolithic era, around 3600-3200 BC. The Hagar Qim temple complex is one of the most important in Malta, with several such Neolithic edifices found on the Mediterranean coast. We end our tour with a spectacular cruise to the Blue Grotto or otherwise called the Blue Cave. The Blue Grotto, is one of the most visited natural attractions in Malta. These are seaside cliffs that form a complex of seven caves, dominated by a large rock arch that falls into the sea. Sometimes, travellers confuse the Blue Grotto with the famous Azure Window rock formation in Gozo, which collapsed into the sea.
