Istanbul City Break 5-Day Coach Tour – Luxuria Travel

Istanbul is the city where Europe and Asia meet, and a 5-day city break gives you the perfect time to discover the essence of this fascinating place. If you dream of admiring impressive mosques, sailing on the Bosphorus and losing yourself among the sultans' palaces, this complete guide will show you what awaits you on our Istanbul City Break 5-Day tour. You'll find out what sights we visit, what the price includes, who this trip suits and how to make a booking. Get ready for a memorable adventure in Turkey's largest city!

What we visit

Our tour takes you through Istanbul's most iconic places, in a well-designed programme that combines history, culture and natural beauty:

  • Bosphorus Cruise – We admire the impressive panorama of the city, with Europe and Asia embracing each other on either side of the strait. Did you know? Around 55,000 ships pass through the Bosphorus annually, making it one of the busiest navigable waterways in the world.
  • Sultanahmet Square and Hagia Sophia – We visit the Hagia Sophia mosque, created with elements of Byzantine art. Did you know? On 27 December 537, Emperor Justinian inaugurated the current Hagia Sophia, which became the most important religious structure in the Byzantine Empire. Moreover, columns from the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus – one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world – were used to fortify the cathedral's construction.
  • Byzantine Cisterns – An ingenious masterpiece of Roman engineering. Did you know? According to ancient historians, Emperor Constantine built a structure that was later rebuilt and expanded by Emperor Justinian after the Nika riots in 532. Ancient texts state that 7,000 slaves worked on the cistern's construction.
  • Topkapi Palace – Built by order of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1459 and completed in 1478. Did you know? Topkapı Palace was the residence of Ottoman sultans for approximately 400 years (1465-1856) and is the most visited museum in Turkey.
  • Dolmabahce Palace – The most imposing and luxurious residence of the sultans. Did you know? The palace covers an area of 15,000 square metres (equivalent to 3 football pitches!) and has over 400 rooms.
  • Sapphire Tower – An impressive building with a stunning height from which you can see the entire city.
  • Florya Aquarium – A fascinating underwater paradise where you'll discover a world full of colours and wonderful creatures.
  • Vlachernae Monastery and the Monastery of the Life-Giving Spring – Historic pilgrimage sites, considered the holiest sanctuaries in Constantinople.
  • Miniaturk Park – We admire miniatures of Turkey's most famous monuments.
  • Turkish evening on the Bosphorus – Magical boat cruise, dinner with drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and artistic programme with traditional Turkish and Romanian dances.
