DAY 2

🍽️ Breakfast 🚂 The Hutulca steam train - a picturesque route The narrow gauge railway at Moldovita was built by a sawmill owner from Munich, Louis Ortieb, and was put into service in 1888 to carry timber from the forest to the sawmill. In 1909 the line was taken over by the church fund, which changed the gauge of the line from 800mm to the standardised 760mm gauge. At first the route of the steam train ran 23,9 kilometres, from Moldovita to Rososa, but over the years many other variants were built and by 1987 the whole system had reached a length of 73km. The Moldovita line was used until 2001 to carry timber. Since July 2005 we have been running this line. At present the line is 12km long. 🥚The Museum of Painted Eggs - Lucia Condrea An artist from Moldovita, recognised internationally for the passion and the devotion she has given to egg painting. She has become one of the valuable artists of this field thanks to her constant work. For over 30 years she has taken part in international exhibitions and has received distinctions and prizes for her efforts. On top of that, the artist has developed a style of her own, decorating the eggs in 14 innovative techniques. The Lucia Condrea Egg Museum has exhibits in 116 display cases, being the only single-author museum of decorated eggs in the world. ⛪ Moldovita Monastery Raised by Petru Rares in 1532 and painted in 1537, it is a new foundation on the site - or, more precisely, close to the site - of an older, ruined one. Of the date on which the first building was raised we know nothing precise. There is, however, more certain news about the building of the stone monument at the beginning of the reign of Alexandru cel Bun, whose ruins can still be seen today. ⛪ Sucevita Monastery Founded at the end of the 16th century by the Movila family, the monastery is known for its church dedicated to the Resurrection of the Lord. Sucevita Monastery is part of the UNESCO world heritage, valued for its historical, artistic and spiritual worth, drawing many pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. 🛏️ Accommodation at Casa Avram (Sucevita)/similar 🍽️ Dinner

Set in a remarkable natural setting, this monastery offers a deep spiritual experience. 🚠 Ride on the Piatra Neamt cable car (optional, depending on the weather) One of the main tourist attractions of the town, offering a spectacular way to admire the mountain scenery and the panorama of the town.
