Located 7 kilometres from Targoviste, the monastery commemorates its founder, Vladislav Voievod Basarab (1447-1456), a descendant of Voivode Vlad Calugarul. ⛪ Dealu Monastery Dealu Monastery is the best-known foundation of Voivode Radu cel Mare and is considered the largest princely necropolis in Romania. The church preserves the head of Voivode Mihai Viteazul, brought here by Bishop Radu Buzescu in 1601. Many pilgrims come especially to pray at his tomb. 🚜 Tractor ride through Cheile Dambovicioarei A unique and charming adventure through one of the most beautiful karst areas in Romania. The route traverses the spectacular gorge, where steep cliffs and wild vegetation create a landscape of rare beauty, perfect to be explored in an original way. The ride also includes a stop at Pestera Dambovicioarei which we will visit. 🗾 Cheile Dambovicioarei Formed by the erosion of limestone by the Dambovicioara river, creating an impressive landscape with steep rock walls reaching heights of up to 200 metres. The gorge extends over a length of approximately 8 kilometres and is known for its picturesque scenery and biological diversity. The area is covered by rich vegetation, including deciduous and coniferous forests, and the local fauna includes varied species of birds and mammals. ⛰️ Pestera Dambovicioara Known for its impressive galleries and limestone formations, the cave attracts visitors of all ages, due to the ease with which it can be explored. The interior of the cave is decorated with stalactites and stalagmites that form varied figures and shapes, sparking the imagination of visitors. 🍽️🥩 Lunch at Dealul Sasului with traditional platter, bulz, a glass of palinca, coffee An authentic experience, perfect for those who wish to enjoy the flavour of traditional Romanian products, direct from their own farm. Set in a picturesque natural setting, it welcomes guests with a varied range of local delicacies, such as matured cheeses, smoked meats, home-baked bread and other specialities prepared according to old recipes. 🚌 Arrival in Bucharest during the evening, depending on traffic conditions.
